The end of the previous year was certainly not what the couple expected, with the signal-caller injuring his knee towards the end of the campaign. Mahomes underwent surgery soon after the injury and is predicted to be up and about before the next season kicks off.

Brittany Mahomes’ husband definitely has a lot of recovery to do before he gets ready for the next campaign with the Chiefs. Before that, the playmaker also has to do plenty of thinking and re-strategizing after his most recent season definitely did not go the way he expected.

Patrick and the Chiefs struggled right from the first week and although they did show signs of improvement somewhere in between, they eventually went down a losing spiral, getting chucked from the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade. Of course, it was not just Patrick Mahomes’ fault, but several other players as well, including Travis Kelce.

On another note, Brittany Mahomes’ husband was recently spotted in the comments section of a post by the official Chiefs account, celebrating Travis Kelce’s rare feat. Kelce became the fastest tight end in franchise history to manage 13,000 receiving yards, and did so in the last game of the campaign.

The Mahomes are pretty close to Travis Kelce and his fiancée, Taylor Swift. In fact, Mahomes and Kelce even went into business together with the opening of their 1587 Prime steakhouse in Kansas City a few months ago.

While Mahomes has a lot more seasons to go with the Chiefs, the same cannot be said for Kelce who is expected to make his retirement announcement pretty soon. However, Kelce revealed recently that he would take some personal time before making such a drastic decision.
