News update : Brittany Mahomes Shares Her Recovery Journey After Breaking Her Back a year ago…

Brittany Mahomes is on the mend after breaking her back more than one year ago. “Almost a year and a half, rehabbing a broken back meant severe pain and limited movement,” Mahomes’ trainer Kirsty Rae wrote alongside a video shared via her Instagram Story on Monday, December 5. “Now, almost a year postpartum and progressively getting stronger every week.”

The clip showed Mahomes, 30, in the gym squatting and lifting a large barbell. “Proof that the body is capable of incredible things when you meet it with patience and intentional training,” Rae continued. “So proud of you @brittanylynne 🤍.” Mahomes reshared the post on her Instagram Story. Back in March 2024, Brittany revealed she injured herself after she and husband Patrick Mahomes welcomed daughter Sterling, 4, and son Bronze, 3. (The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, later expanded their family with daughter Golden in January 2025.) “Just a daily reminder. Once you have kids please take care of your pelvic floor. Seriously,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories at the time, signing the warning as, “From: A girl with a fractured back.”

I’m doing great,” she told E! News in May 2024. “I’m living my best life. My back is no longer broken, so that’s good.” Brittany added that she was given permission to start working out again.

“I’m finally fully recovered and back to doing the things that I’ve always been able to do. I’m staying on top of my health,” she told the outlet, stressing how important it was for her to be “active and healthy for my kids and my dogs.” Since making her recovery, Brittany has made a point to keep up her fitness routine. Last month, she brought her eldest children along for a Christmas Eve gym session. “Christmas Eve workout with my kiddos,” Brittany captioned an Instagram Story video Sterling and Bronze walking on the treadmill next to her.

The toddlers tried to keep up with their mom but were unsuccessful. Sterling was first to fall followed by Bronze. Neither one of Brittany’s kids appeared to be injured as they followed their mom in her next workout. The children laid down on a gym mat as Brittany did her leg lifts and additional core exercises.

Brittany is not the only one in the family making a recovery process. Patrick, 30, sustained a season-ending injury last month when he tore his ACL in the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Los Angeles Chargers. “Don’t know why this had to happen. And not going to lie it’s [sic] hurts. But all we can do now is Trust in God and attack every single day over and over again,” the quarterback wrote via X after the game, which the Chiefs lost and were subsequently eliminated from the playoffs. “Thank you Chiefs kingdom for always supporting me and for everyone who has reached out and sent prayers.”
