Referees immediately noticed the punch and ejected Williams from the game. Williams’s alleged misconduct could lead to further league disciplinary action, as the Chiefs won the Super Bowl rematch 28-18. Williams has been ejected for hitting an opponent in the head while wearing a helmet, a first for former Seattle Seahawks legend Richard Sherman in 2012 and a second for throwing a punch during the 2023 Niners-New York Giants match.
