WATCH As Patrick Mahomes Sets Another NFL Record
The start of the new NFL season is always special and even more so when your team is the defendant Super Bowl Champions. The Kansas City Chiefs got to start the year at home against the Baltimore Ravens and that was not the only thing special about it.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes once again has stood out after establishing yet another record on the field. The signal caller threw a 23-yard pass to tight end Travis Kelce and that was a significant achievement for him.
Mahomes past Len Dawson’s career mark of 28,507 yards, setting a new franchise record. Dawson, a Hall of Famer, set the previous mark over 183 games and 3,696 pass attempts. Mahomes did in incredible fashion.

Another breathtaking mark
Patrick Mahomes established the new record, that will of course be added to every time he passes the ball, in only 97 regular season games with 3,600 pass attempts, putting him at another level.
The team’s social media accounts celebrated the quarterback by posting “No one left to pass but himself. Congratulations on the MOST passing yards in franchise history.” People from all over did not hesitate to jump in the conversation.
The play that set a new record was also special, as Patrick Mahomes avoided getting hit by three defenders that were approaching him as he rolled to his right and found his favorite target.
