Taylor Swift has a new ‘enemy’ in her life: Sabrina Carpenter.
Taylor Swift may have a new chart rival, but it’s all in good fun. Sabrina Carpenter, a close friend and former opening act on Swift’s Eras Tour, is making waves with her impressive achievements on the music charts.
Carpenter’s 2024 album, “Short n’ Sweet,” has soared to success, earning four Pop Airplay No. 1s, which places her just behind Swift’s milestone of five No. 1s from her 2014 album “1989”
According to Billboard, only five albums have managed to earn four or more No. 1 singles on the Pop Airplay chart since its creation in 1992.
Carpenter now joins the elite ranks of Katy Perry with six No. 1s from “Teenage Dream” (2010), Lady Gaga with four from “The Fame” (2008), and Justin Timberlake with four from “FutureSex/LoveSounds” (2006).
Sabrina Carpenter’s chart-topping success
Carpenter, 25, has rapidly climbed the charts with her hit songs “Taste,” “Please Please Please,” “Espresso,” and most recently, “Bed Chem,” which claimed the top spot on Thursday.
Her rising popularity follows her impressive stint as an opening act for Taylor Swift during the Latin America, Australia, and Singapore legs of the Eras Tour in 2023 and 2024.
Despite the playful competition, there’s no sign of tension between the two artists. In fact, SZA recently hinted at the possibility of a collaboration with Taylor Swift during her appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show on Friday.
The “Kill Bill” singer, who won five Grammy Awards, revealed that she spoke to Swift during the 2025 Grammys about potentially working together.
