The Paris Olympics are kicking off on July 26 and rumors are already swirling about which celebrities could make an appearance.
Eagle-eyed Swifties have noted that there is a gap in Taylor Swift’s schedule that could free her up for a trip to Paris, fueling speculation that she might attend.
At the moment, Swift is in the midst of her European leg for the Eras Tour, which has kept her incredibly busy the past few months. After performing in Amsterdam and Germany (with boyfriend Travis Kelce in the audience), Swift’s next stop will be in Munich this month.
So, how exactly does her Eras Tour schedule align with the upcoming Olympics? Here’s everything to know.
After performing in Hamburg, Germany on July 24, Swift has a few days off before hitting the stage in Munich, Germany on Saturday, July 27.
That means her schedule is clear on the day of the Opening Ceremony, a star-studded event which in the past has featured artists including Olivia Newton-John, The Chicks and Nelly Furtado.
Additionally, Swift doesn’t have a concert on Aug. 11, when the Closing Ceremony is slated to take place. The day before, she will wrap her Vienna, Austria concert dates and will have a brief break before performing in London on Aug. 15.
The Closing Ceremony is often a big event, with many show-stopping performances through the years, from One Direction to the Spice Girls epic re-union in 2012.
Swift has close ties to Team USA, specifically the women’s gymnastics team and the women’s water polo team.
She has been a fierce supporter of gymnast Simone Biles. In 2021, when Biles withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics Swift paid tribute to Biles by narratinf a video about her accomplishments, alling the gymnast “a hero.”
Clearly touched by the video, Biles tweeted in response: “I’m crying 🥺🤍 how special. I love you @taylorswift13.” Swift then replied to Biles, writing, “I cried watching YOU. I feel so lucky to have gotten to watch you all these years, but this week was a lesson in emotional intelligence and resilience. We all learned from you. Thank you.”
