Lil Durk Reportedly Planning To Plead Not Guilty In Murder For Hire Case
Lil Durk is reportedly planning on entering a plea of not guilty in his recent murder for hire case.
According to a report from TMZ on Wednesday (October 30), sources close to the rapper have confirmed he will be fighting the case, which he was arrested for in Broward County, Florida on Thursday (October 24)
The outlet also reports that Durkio is in “great spirits” at the Federal Detention Center in Miami and has been described as “super charming” and “agreeable.” Thus far, he’s reportedly only complained about the food.
In a report earlier this week, it was alleged that Durk booked three separate international flights, and was on the verge of boarding one of them, right before he was arrested.
FBI Special Agent Sarah Corcoran swore out an affidavit as part of the federal criminal complaint against the Chicago rapper, stating that five people she claimed were associated with Durk’s OTF crew were arrested early on Thursday, while federal agents “executed multiple search warrants in the Chicago area.”
“Shortly after making these arrests and executing the search warrants,” she continued, “the FBI received notifications from U.S. Customs and Border Protection showing that [Durk] had been booked as a passenger on two international flights: (i) a one-way flight from Miami to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, connecting through Doha, Qatar, scheduled to depart the evening of October 24; and (ii) a one-way flight from Fort Lauderdale to Switzerland, connecting via New Jersey, also scheduled to depart the evening of October 24.”
She noted that “I believe that the UAE does not have a bilateral extradition treaty with the United States,” with the unsaid implication being that Durk was attempting to flee his impending arrest.
Durk didn’t board either of those two flights, Agent Corcoran revealed. However, “at approximately 6:40 p.m. ET, the FBI received an additional CBP notification that [Durk] had been booked as a passenger on a private plane departing Miami and destined for Italy, scheduled to depart at approximately 9:00 p.m. ET.”
Durk was arrested one hour before that flight, “in the vicinity of the departing airport,” the agent said.
The OTF rapper was, as mentioned, arrested on a charge of murder for hire, over his alleged role in a murder plot against Quando Rondo to avenge the death of King Von.
The five other men Corcoran mentioned, alleged to be members of Durk’s OTF (Only the Family) collective, were arrested on charges of murder for hire and murder for hire conspiracy in connection with the 2022 killing of Quando’s cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson.
A newly-unsealed indictment, filed in the U.S. Central District Court of California, charges those five men with Robinson’s death: Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston.
They are accused of attempting to murder Quando Rondo in Los Angeles in August 2022 but killing the rapper’s cousin, who was with him at the time, instead.
The group carried out orders from and relied on the resources of OTF, according to prosecutors, with flights and rental cars paid for with a credit card associated with the label.
