Kate Middleton Opens Up About Why She & Prince William Left London.

Kate Middleton didn’t hold back on St. Patrick’s Day. Not only did she share details about her future travel plans and how she really feels about her husband’s beard, but she also revealed the valid reason why she and Prince William, temporarily left London.

The Princess of Wales, 43, recently attended the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade of the Irish Guards in London, where she handed out medals during the ceremony and drank a half-pint of Guinness with the Irish Guards to celebrate the holiday. While speaking with the guardsmen, Princess Catherine explained why she’s currently living in Windsor (not London) with her family.

“We are in Windsor at the moment,” she said (according to People magazine). “We were in London but moved there for more green space.”

The Princess of Wales continued, “It’s close enough to London, not too far away.”

During another conversation with Corporal Adam Hamilton, Princess Catherine admitted that she hopes to travel more with her three children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—now that they’re older. She explained that she wants to do an overseas trip to Australia and New Zealand because her oldest son, Prince George, doesn’t remember going there when he was 9-months-old. 
“George finds it fascinating that he has been to Australia and New Zealand,” the royal said, referring to a 2014 trip when Prince George was only 9-months-old. “I would like to go back there with them now. It’s finding time to do that. But I love to travel – yes, it’s a long flight. But I love the Middle East because that’s familiar to me [from] growing up. There are so many opportunities now to travel, I think it’s brilliant to experience it.”
Princess Catherine continued, “We tend to go further afield when its official visits. It’s being able to carve out time to experience these countries in a more private capacity. Because otherwise you end up seeing lots of insides of amazing buildings but you don’t get to meet that many people.”
