In a recent post on X, the rapper, who now goes by Ye, claimed that three key events from his past kept him from being considered for the prestigious performance slot

“I never was allowed to do the Super Bowl because of three moments. George Bush don’t care about Black people. The Taylor Swift movement moment. Wearing a MAGA hat,” he alleged, while also referring to his public support of President Trump.

The long-running feud with Taylor Swift
The roots of West’s public spat with Swift go back to the 2009 VMAs, when he stormed the stage during Swift’s acceptance speech, insisting that Beyoncé deserved the award.

Their relationship further soured when West referenced Swift in his 2016 song “Famous,” which she claims was done without her permission. This ongoing animosity has been a consistent point of tension in their public lives.

Despite the controversy surrounding his career, Kanye West has not been invited to headline a Super Bowl halftime show, although he did perform with Rihanna during a pre-Super Bowl gig in 2015.
