Legendary British actor Michael Caine has been open about his admiration for pop sensation Taylor Swift, revealing his appreciation for her talent and dedication in his newly released memoir, Don’t Look Back, You’ll Trip Over: My Guide to Life.
The two-time Oscar winner, who is known for his honest takes on fame and success, appears to be a true Swiftie.
Discussing Swift’s impressive career trajectory, Caine expressed his amazement at how she transformed from a country music singer into a global pop icon.
“I think Taylor Swift is incredible, a giant star, you know, she was a country singer to start with? And now she fills stadiums all over the world, with audiences of 100,000, and politicians are desperate for her to support them,” Caine stated, according to US Weekly.
Taylor Swift’s Work Ethic Earns High Praise
In the book, Caine continues to emphasize Swift’s relentless dedication and hard work as key factors in her unprecedented success. “You can just tell how much hard work lies behind what she’s achieved, too. It’s no accident. She has really earned her success, and it hasn’t come overnight,” he wrote.
What truly seems to impress Caine is Swift’s ability to remain humble despite her immense success. “She’s down-to-earth, which is almost always part of it. Not spoiled by all the accolades and money. That’s impressive,” he added.
Caine’s appreciation for Swift’s grounded personality stands in contrast to how he views the ever-changing entertainment industry.
The 90-year-old actor lamented how modern fame is different from the golden age of Hollywood. He pointed out that attention is now divided between countless platforms and emerging stars, making it increasingly difficult for anyone to maintain a lasting presence in the industry.
