Brittany Mahomes names her dog after her husband’s rival team
In a twist of NFL fandom, Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, revealed an interesting tidbit about their family pets. Speaking to People magazine, Brittany shared stories about their two beloved dogs, Steel and Silver.
“They’re basically our children,” Brittany gushed. “I consider us having four kids.” Her affection for the dogs is evident, but the story behind Steel’s name is particularly engaging. Brittany recounted how her college days as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan inspired the name.
“I actually got Steel when I was in college. Patrick bought him for me as a Valentine’s Day gift when I was a junior,” Brittany explained. “So, I used to be a Steelers fan, and that’s how I got the name Steel. It’s a great story.”
