Podcasters say Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ‘should have a kid’ — stop telling couples to have a baby.

Former NFL players Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman said that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce “should have a kid”, but can we please stop telling couples when to have a baby?

Superstar Swift and actor-come-athlete Kelce have certainly earned “it” couple status. The tight end jetted across the world to support the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker on her record-breaking Eras Tour, while Swift has been in the stands at not one but two of Kelce’s Super Bowl sporting events, in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

After confirming their relationship back in September 2023, it would only be a matter of time before the media and other industry sources would begin to weigh in on when the pair would get engaged, tie the knot, or perhaps most invasively, discuss if and when they will have children.

In a recent Dudes on Dudes podcast, Edelman speculated that Swift and Kelce – who have not publicly discussed their family plans – may have a child together. Gronkowski then responded that “they should have a kid”.

“That would be a great kid,” Edelman responded.

PinkNews has contacted a representative of the Dudes on Dudes podcast for further comment.

As Chappell Roan has rightly noted, just because someone is in the public eye doesn’t give others the right to cross their boundaries. That should also include stopping the incessant speculation about if and when a couple will choose to grow their family, which is frankly, no one else’s business but theirs.

There are many factors for why a couple isn’t ready or is unable to have children, including prioritising their career, financial reasons, climate concerns, and infertility. Not to mention, some couples simply don’t want to have children, as is their right not to.

And such speculation can be all the more painful for LGBTQ+ couples, who have to face inequalities when it comes to fertility treatment, surrogacy or adoption options to bring a child into the world.

Swift and Kelce are not the only celebrities in recent moments who have been subjected to pregnancy and baby rumours. Lady Gaga was forced to dispel pregnancy rumours last year, and Selena Gomez had to speak out on why she can’t carry a child.
